Karthik is a Research Professor at Subtropical Horticulture Research Institute, Jeju National University, South Korea. He received B.S. and Master Degrees in Agriculture and Biotechnology from Annamalai University and Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, India. Ph.D in Crop Genetics and breeding from Nanjing Agricultural University, China. After completing his Ph.D, Karthik worked as a Postdoctoral fellow in Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, India. His research focuses on discovering and characterizing the major genes involved in the expression of important agronomic traits in legumes and cereals. He also has a research interest in applying plant-derived natural products to improve human and animal health and control insect pests. He serves as the Editorial Board member and Associate Editor in renowned journals. He has authored more than 100 publications, including articles and book chapters.
